FAQ on Emergency Housing
I’m very sick but I haven’t been hospitalized - am I a candidate for Recuperative Care?
You can be a candidate for recuperative care with medical documentation. Call Illumination Health + Home Recuperative Care Referral Line at (714) 662-9600 to inquire.
Can I bring my pet with me?
Pets are accepted at most of the Illumination sites. We have a policy of one pet per person/family.
How long do people stay in the emergency housing?
Are there any eligibility requirements for coming to one of your shelters?
What should I do if I find someone experiencing homelessness who needs help?
Do you have emergency services for people in immediate need?
For medical emergencies please dial 9-1-1 and for any other emergencies please dial 2-1-1.
How can I report a person who is in need of immediate shelter or medical assistance?
- For immediate shelter, call 211.
- For immediate medical assistance, call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room.
Do you offer support for people who are fleeing domestic violence?
